Be There Now Festival

featuring Aircastle and The Saturn Return of Gladden Fields

Two of Sonoma County’s hottest bands from the late 70’s are back for a couple of free outdoor concerts this April. The 30 year band reunions of Gladden Fields and Aircastle are part of the Be There Now Festival taking place April 18th at Sonoma State University 5:30 – 7:30 pm (Darwin Quad) and April 19th at La Plaza Park band shell in Cotati 12 – 2 pm. The concerts are produced and promoted by New York entertainment attorney Steve Gabe, the lead vocalist, harmonica player and drummer of Gladden Fields.

The Aircastle performance on Friday night will feature the original quartet from 30 years ago. Vocalist Karen Stokes and violinist Jeremy Cohen (leader of Quartet San Francisco and 3 time Grammy Award nominee) will join lead vocalist and flutist Robert Gilmore and co-lead vocalist and acoustic guitarist David Godet. On Saturday founding members Gilmore and Godet will appear as an acoustic duo.

The festival will continue with sets by Julie Ann Layne (folk rock) and Sonoma County music scene guitarist Alan Watt (of Bottle Shock).  Both artists will be accompanied by members of Gladden Fields and will join the band for the final set which will also feature lead guitarist Libby Harrison, bassist Dan Goitein and local drummer and percussionist Steve Berry (of Blue Moon). We are still looking for two more key members Steve Stang (saxes and flute) and Mike Cunnigham (Guitar).
